Bangor area community leaders, substance use & mental health professionals, non-profits, churches, MDOC & County Jail partners, volunteers, re-entry specialists, formerly incarcerated, and more continue to meet, planning community action around the challenges facing returning citizens. Regardless of city or region, the #1 challenge continues to be HOUSING! Housing of all kinds; Shelters, transitional housing, short and long term housing. Not only is there a lack of housing stock, but affordability is also a huge factor. This Bangor stakeholder’s meetings will focus on creative housing solutions, mental health, substance use supports, and building a rapid response team.
